Game Factory Interactive at Igrograd 2005!
On the 12th of April 2005 Olga Pack, a Game Factory Interactive representative went on a visit to Kiev,
a magnificent city with beautiful houses standing in cozy streets and amiable citizens inhabiting them, and fine
weather adding to the delight and admiration. But the young PR manager was not going to enjoy the sights of the
Ukrainian capital city, the Annual International Festival Igrograd held there was the main reason of her
going there. The Igrograd Exhibition was third time organized by the Publishing House “My Computer”.
On the 14th - 17th of April the computer games exhibition “Igrograd – 2005” was held in the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Ukraine. And Game Factory Interactive had two projects to display there. So, not
to let any detail of the story slip away, Olga, a real witness of what was going on, will tell
everything herself.

Running this year E3expo GFI has presented 6 projects developed by Russian and Ukrainian studios. Our booth welcomed all visitors interested in GFI titles. Among our guests were journalists, representatives of other companies and individuals who wanted to see and play our games. There were 5 demonstration places installed with Officers (3A Games aka GFI UA), Warfare (Mist Land), African Alliance (Mist Land), Neuro (Revolt Games) and Rat Hunter (Secret Sign). Large plasma screen demonstrated presentation of Officers that had great success in public.
FPS fans could play Neuro and Rat Hunter. RTS lovers could enjoy by realistic graphic of Warfare. African Alliance – tactical simulator has amazed many minds by hard missions.
One of the most expected and popular projects Jagged Alliance 3D unfortunately was presented only on paper. Mist Land runs project under control of Strategy First. Unfortunately, Mist Land’s representatives couldn’t attend at E3 this year and present their projects more detailed. Anyway, we’ve tried to answer all questions.
Publishing division also didn’t waste the time. We strengthen existing business contacts with partners and established many new. And above all, we made a big step forward. Our company is going visit Tokyo exhibition this year.

The 1st of June will be remembered for us not only by Day of Children Defence in Russia. Markus Windelen from Atari Company has visited The Mist Land-South office at the same day. To honour our long-term and productive partnership, first time ever for all gaming industry we have arrested the tree in a cosy Mist-Land office’s yard. It must be noticed, that the name of the apple-tree sort - “Royalty” presented perfectly the content of a deal… In that way, two publishing companies marked their good relationship on all that long years. Since now, GFI will keep to this tradition and who knows; maybe someday we will grow a real grand wood.

At this year show will be presented new games:
Officers is a 3D real time strategy game with RPG elements that lets the player act as an officer commanding tank and infantry units. The story of the game is based on the general facts of the World War II and is split into campaigns - Allies and Germans. Each country represented in the game has its realistic military structure, weapons and equipment. Promotion implies lager forces under direct control, matching objectives and greater scope - up to 1.500 troops engaged in a battle simultaneously. In the game are realized such features as terra-morphing, particle system for fire, smoke, explosions, weather effect, realistic military structure of the armies, four seasons, day and night cycles, realistic damage system etc.
Publisher: Russobit-M WWA: Game Factory Interactive Neuro is a story-driven sci-fi first-person shooter. It takes place in the fourth century of the Space Era, which will begin when mankind discovers hyperdrive engines. Warfare is a real-time global war simulator with real material. It's devoted to the conflict in the Middle East. There are two campaigns, one for the USA, the other one for Saudi Arabia. New Officers details:
The third international expo Igrograd was held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine on April 14 to 17 in Kiev.
Game Factory Interactive and GFI UA exposed their project to public in light of the recent changes to the game concept and total engine renovation. The show was sort of a ballon d’essai before the major gaming event of the year to be held in LA May 17-20. Nonetheless, we were very pleased with sincere interest of the press and developers in Officers.

Warfare is a real-time global war simulator with real material and it's devoted to a conflict in the Middle East. There are two campaigns, one for the USA, the other for Saudi Arabia. The main goal of the first campaign is taking full control of the region; the second one is coming to power in Saudi Arabia and achieving the withdrawal of all American troops.
“The whole Arabic peninsula will be divided into maps. There are going to be around 30 such maps. All these maps will be represented as regions on the global map. Each region will be controlled by a different side (NATO, Taliban, or the player). All “macromanagement” functions will be carried out on the global map, including forming squads within the army, as well as giving out movement orders for armies. In case a player’s army (or several armies) has moved out into a region controlled by the enemy, or the enemy has invaded a region controlled by the player – the game will switch to the tactical phase.
When playing for the Americans player will get a more or less linear campaign with a significantly simplified strategic part. In the beginning the player is a lieutenant of the American army getting surrounded on a patrol mission, his goal is breaking out; after achieving this, a plot branch begins leading the player to become a colonel, as well as moving all American bases out of Saudi Arabia and concentrating them in Iraq (capturing it along the way). During plot development the Americans will receive reinforcements from the States in predetermined plot locations.
When playing for the Arabs, the player will start off as a simple field commander with a small squad increasing in size over time. According to the plot, after a few missions his ties with the central command (the Taliban) will break. This is where the game begins.”

New details on Officers Game Factory Interactive and GFI(UA) development studio presents to your attention some new screenshots from the upcoming game Officers.
This screenshot pack presents the in-game particle system. The particles are among those cornerstones that form visual perception of the game. Taking advantage of the particles developers may create such visuals as rain, snow, fire, smoke, fog, shots, explosions etc. Hence, they put many efforts in creating realistic and visually captivating particle effects.
These screenshots show the particles in the game by the example of firing tanks, explosions, burning vehicles, dust from under the tracks and engine exhaust. The particle system though is not in its final stage and should not be considered as such. The game is still in development, so additional amendments, tuning and fixing are inevitable.

Rat Hunter announcement Game Factory Interactive Ltd. and Secret Sign Development Studio have signed a contract concerning the 3d FPS game Rat Hunter.
Game Factory Interactive will present worldwide Sales and PR interests of Rat Hunter project.
Shortly about the game: Rat Hunter is a traditional first-person shooter set in a hi-tech environment.The action takes place on a remote planet, which is located in a G-class star system. Its gravity, atmosphere and other conditions are pretty much the same as on Earth. The main character of the game is a freelance reporter who started an independent investigation in order to expose the truth behind the disappearances of workers of a corporate facility.

Game Factory Interactive and Russobit-M made the new agreement. Game Factory Interactive Ltd. and Russobit-M companies have signed an agreement about a long-term partnership.
Since now Game Factory Interactive becomes the Sales and PR agent of several upcoming games from Russobit-M's developers.
The list of games is: East Front (developer: Burut CT)
East Front ( working title) is a first person 3D shooter, that takes place in the world of the alternative World War II. The main character, who was involved in the experiments carried out by Nazis to create a Perfect Soldier, happens to be in the German Resistance and fights against his creators. Novelty and originality of the game process are provided by the features like unique Liv Kristin “emotion engine”, possibility of main hero to create a “temporary shield”, nonlinear level running (based on decisions scenes) and original multiplayer mode. The graphical part of the game represents cinematographic values of the visual images and game process.
Phase Exodus (developer: Horns and Hoofs)
Phase Exodus is a 3D RPG with a strong strategy element, which takes the player to the possible future of the Earth, to the world after the catastrophe of the global scale. The game starts in the year 2062. From the very beginning the player have to choose one of the four characters from this world in order to carry out the mission. Game includes realistic sci-fi world, classic 3rd person view (isometric), advanced AI and NPCs interaction, more abilities to interact with gaming world, multiplayer mod, more then 150 kinds of weapon, APARpS ( Advanced Post-Apocalypse Role-Play System), and the inoovative feature - quests matrix.
Neuro (developer: Revolt Games)
Neuro is a plot-based sci-fi first person shooter. Game’s events unfold in a world of future, in fourth century of space era, which will come after inventing of hyperspace engine. Main character is a psyonic fighter on service of powerful organization that controls scientifically and technical activity of Earth citizen’s descendants inhabited the galaxy. One of the main feature of the game the ability of the main hero to move from one body to another (including his enemy’s bodies) using psy-control. Besides psy control, character has another psyonic abilities as well – so, in fact, he’s no one else than magician, yet not a fantasy wizard, but a magician of technogenous world. Many kinds of fantastic weapon; the main advantage of Neuro’s rendering system is the ability to render a huge amounts of polygons with per-pixel lighting and dynamic shadows with acceptable frame rates; the engine supported different types of effects, such as particle systems, volumetric fog, motion blur, slow motion etc; the characters are animated using the skeleton animation technology; original multiplayer mod.

Cycling Manager 04 - russian version is coming up. Game Factory Interactive made a contract with Cyanide Studio concerning the sport managing game Cycling Manager 4. Game Factory Interactive got the publishing rights on this game on former USSR territory.
The russian release of Cycling Manager 4 is planned on the upcoming november.

Following the tradeshow negotiations Game Factory Interactive and Dream Catcher have signed a contract on publishing of COPS 2170: The Power of Law from MiST land - South development studio. Since now Dream Catcher Company becomes a pan-european publisher of COPS 2170: The Power of Law.

During the weekend of the 7-8th of August we've gathered the short seminar of our developers in Moscow. We had simple but important objects - to support good relationships beetween developers and us.

Chaos League in CIS Game Factory Interactive Ltd. is going to present the bright, fun and a bit provoking fantasy game from Cyinide Studio named "Chaos League".
According to the contract with Strategy First, GFI becomes CIS and Baltic publisher of "Chaos League".
"Chaos League" is a new kind of game, combining Real-Time Strategy, RPG and Sports. And players will finally be able to break all rules on the sportfield.

06.06.2004 Game Factory Interactive and its development studio MiST Land - South team up with Strategy First to continue the Jagged Alliance and Disciples series. Game Factory Interactive and Strategy First are pleased to announce that they have entered into a contract that will see MiST Land South (Game Factory's development studio) develop the following titles on behalf of SFI: Jagged Alliance 2 in 3D, Disciples III and Jagged Alliance 3, all for the PC platform.
MiST Land South, located in Russia has already begun work on the projects, but no specific release dates have been set. "MiST Land South have already proven themselves to us with COPS 2170: The Power of Law and ALFA: Antiterror, two of their titles that we will publish here in North America," says Don McFatridge, President and CEO of Strategy First Inc. "We are confident that together we will bring the Disciples and Jagged Alliance franchises to a whole new audience."
Strategy First will be the worldwide publisher of all three games, while Game Factory Interactive will publish them in Russia and Eastern European markets.
"Together with Game Factory Interactive, we have already had good cooperation with Strategy First as they are bringing two of our titles to the North American market. We're happy to have an opportunity to work with these celebrated and successful franchises," says Vitaly Shukov, Head of MiST Land South. "We will work hand-in-hand with Strategy First to create high quality, modern, and fascinating games that keep the legendary soul and atmosphere of these popular franchises."

It's based on WWII actions and presents the all warfare within 1939 - 1945 years. The game uses the real army structure of years 39 - 45 with all main and specialized branches including reconnaissance, counterespionage and medical squads etc. All main countries - participants are playable in the game. Other countries activities are managed by AI. The unique system of global and local AI provides a lot of gameplay innovations.
